Ultimate Silhouettplasty, the process to safely address skin and fat on the abdomen. Part One (Abdominoplasty) (Tummy Tuck). Jacquelyn shares why she is going to get her tummy tuck and what S. Larry Schlesinger, MD, FACS from the Breast Implant Center of Hawaii helped her understand about her body.
Video Transcript:
I grew up being heavyset and then when I got pregnant with my son it just made everything worse. And then when we moved to Hawaii everybody was in shorts and bathing suits and I never owned a pair of shorts, never owned a tank top. I always in jeans and a sweatshirt.
I worked so hard to lose all that weight and you feel great because you lost all that weight, yet you are left with stretch marks, skin. You’ve worked so hard for something, yet you’re left with the reminder of what you used to be.
And then when Dr. S was showing me about the tummy tuck and what would be taken away, I guess, he pulled up the back of my skin, the back here, and he says, this is all skin. I thought it was all fat, but instead it’s just skin that you can’t get rid of. It was just weird. It blew me away when he did that. I was like, oh, okay, well that kind of makes sense now why it won’t go away.
I can’t wait to see the end result of what I’ll actually look like. What my body was actually supposed to look like, I guess. I can’t wait for it to happen.
I actually haven’t seen any of my family for quite some time and we will be going back this summer, after [the surgery].
