Rhinoplasty (Nose Surgery) is an aesthetic surgery that helps bring a natural appearance and harmony to the face by making strategic alterations to the nose. Possible modifications to the nose can include changing the size, shape, and overall appearance. Also known as a nose job, rhinoplasty requires a unique approach to each procedure as every nose and every patient’s desires are different.
I went to Dr. Schlesinger to perform my rhinoplasty because of his reputation. And upon meeting him at my consultation and throughout my surgery journey, have learned of his knowledge, skill, work ethic, and attention to detail, and could not be more pleased with my results.—Actual patient on RealSelf. Rhinoplasty Benefits
Potential benefits of a rhinoplasty include a shortened or lengthened nose, a preferable shape or contour to the nose, narrowing of the nostrils, or a lift and definition of the tip. A rhinoplasty can also be used to cure a deviated septum. Deviation of the septum can cause breathing difficulty and can be corrected during the surgery.
About Rhinoplasty
Every nose surgery is different but all require general anesthesia. Once the anesthesia is administered, S. Larry Schlesinger, MD, FACS will begin shaping your nose to match the specifications you decided on during consultation. A rhinoplasty involves sculpting bone and cartilage to achieve the desired shape. Additionally, the bones in the nose can be re-positioned to either accentuate or diminish specific areas of the nose. Once the procedure is complete, skin and soft tissues are re-positioned aesthetically and strategically to aid in the recovery process.
Following surgery, S. Larry Schlesinger, MD, FACS will prescribe medications to minimize the discomfort following the procedure. A bandage or splint may be applied to stabilize internal tissues.
Due to the complexity of a rhinoplasty, there is a slight risk of complications which may require a revision surgery. For this reason it is extremely important to find a board certified plastic surgeon who is experienced performing nose surgery and has a proven ability to deliver on a patient’s desires.
Serving patients from Honolulu, board certified plastic surgeon S. Larry Schlesinger, MD, FACS can meet your rhinoplasty needs and will do so with a wealth of experience to guide him.
I could not be luckier or have had a more amazing experience then I’ve had so far with Dr. Schlesinger and his staff. I gained so much trust and respect for him right away after he was exactly on point about the ways in which my nose could be improved, which resulted in as perfect a nose as I think can be accomplished. The entire journey has just been wonderful.—Actual patient on RealSelf. Read more RealSelf patient reviews »
Nose Job
A nose job is the conversational term used for a rhinoplasty procedure, also known as nose surgery. Those who wish to alter the original appearance of the nose or those affected by nose deformity are good Hawaii nose job candidates. Please read on for more nose job information:
About Nose Job Surgery
When performed by a board certified plastic surgeon, a nose job can subtly but effectively improve the appearance of the nose. There are two categories of this procedure: Caucasian nose jobs and Asian nose jobs.
A Caucasian nose job can:
- Eliminate a bump on the bridge of the nose
- Improve tip definition of the nose
- Reduce or add to the overall size of the nose
- Change the angle between the nose and upper lip
An Asian nose job can:
- Create a bridge in the nose
- Add definition and projection to the tip
- Narrow excessively flared nostrils
- Correct some degrees of facial “flatness”
- Reverse a bi-maxillary retrusion (a “buck teeth” appearance)
How much does a nose job cost in Hawaii?
Costs for nose surgery (rhinoplasty) with Dr. Schlesinger range from $9,000 to $12,000.
This includes surgeon’s fees, operating room and lab costs, post-op materials, and laser scar revision, tattooing and/or touch-ups, should they be necessary (most plastic surgeons do not include touch-ups as part of their rhinoplasty fee). Anesthesia fees, medication, and any travel costs are not included.

Undergoing a Nose Job at our Honolulu Practice
A nose job begins by administering general anesthesia for patient comfort. If I am your Hawaii nose job surgeon, I will aim to reshape the nose in a way that is consistent with your anatomy, needs and expectations. After surgery, you will likely have a splint on your nose for 5 days. This is support system that the nose relies on during the healing phase. Once the splint is removed, you are free to enjoy your results. They will continue to improve in the weeks following your procedure.
Selecting a Hawaii Rhinoplasty Surgeon
A nose job may sound like a minor procedure, but in fact it is the hallmark of plastic surgery. Good plastic surgeons must be able to prove their aptitude for performing an outstanding nose job. I am often invited to speak on the Asian nose job, a procedure that is far more complex than Caucasian variety. Patients can rest assured that they are in good hands when undergoing a nose job at Breast Implant Center of Hawaii.

Undergoing a Nose Shaping at our Honolulu Practice
As with most plastic surgery procedures, nose shaping begins with general anesthesia so that the patient remains asleep during surgery. With me as your Hawaii nose shaping surgeon, you can expect results that are a good fit for your anatomy, needs and expectations. We can discuss your desired results before surgery.
After surgery, most of my Honolulu nose shaping patients wear nose splints for the first week. Once the splints are removed, the new results can be enjoyed. However, patients should be aware that most nose shaping results continue to improve in the weeks following surgery.
