A forehead lift is designed to remove excess skin from the forehead; the result is a smoother, more youthful appearance on the forehead. Our Hawaii forehead lift patients are women and men with lines, creases and/or furrowed brows.
About Forehead Lift Surgery
Forehead lift surgery smoothes the skin on the forehead to create a fresher, more rejuvenated appearance. It also includes elimination of the corrugator muscle, the cause of vertical lines between the eyebrows (“the Elevens”).
There are two types of forehead lifts: open forehead lift and endoscopic. The more extensive the sagging, the more likely it is that an open forehead lift will be required. Because most patients have the requisite amount of sagging, I normally perform an open forehead lift.
Undergoing Forehead Lift at our Honolulu Practice
A forehead lift procedure begins with the incisions. For my Hawaii forehead lift patients, the incisions can be made inside or out the hair line; for patients with high brows, the incision is at the hair line. For patients with low brows, an incision is made in the hair line and then dissects down to the corrugator muscle that which causes the frowning and furrowing between the eyes. I remove it piece by piece, then replace it with the surgical product AlloDerm to prevent depressions and wrinkling. Only one drain is needed, and it is removed the next day. There are no dressings required.
