Blepharoplasty
An Eyelid Lift is a surgical procedure that corrects sagging or drooping skin on the upper or lower eyelids. An eyelid lift is most commonly used to improve the appearance of the eyes but in some cases can be used to improve vision.

As we age, we all begin to see bags under our eyes. For some, excessive skin on the eyelids causes eyelid droop, giving a “tired” appearance and in some cases impairing vision. The good news is there is an easy solution. Eyelid surgery, known technically as Blepharoplasty, is a procedure designed to repair one or both of these symptoms.
Eyelid Lift Benefits
If you believe your field of vision is suffering because of your drooping eyelids, eyelid surgery can restore your vision and beautify your overall appearance. Visual field testing is recommended to patients wondering if their vision is being impaired and if the test determines a Blepharoplasty would repair your vision, insurance may provide coverage for the procedure.
An Eyelid Lift can be combined with one or more other cosmetic facial procedures to provide a more thorough facial rejuvenation. Consult with S. Larry Schlesinger, MD, FACS with questions about which procedures are best to combine with others and which procedures are best done alone. In some cases, it is best to see the results of one procedure before assessing progress and proceeding with further cosmetic procedures.
I highly recommend Dr. Schlesinger for eyelid surgery. Don’t let the name “Breast Implant Center” scare you away from using him for other plastic surgery.—Actual patient on RealSelf. Read more RealSelf patient reviews »
About Eyelid Lifts
An Eyelid Lift is generally performed under local anesthesia and sometimes under general anesthesia if the eyelid surgery is performed at the same time as other facial procedures. Bruising and swelling are common following surgery but subside in the following days, leaving rejuvenated eyelids and a vibrant overall facial structure.
Serving patients from Honolulu, S. Larry Schlesinger, MD, FACS strives to find the best combination of facial procedures to give patients the results they desire.
