Do I Need a Lift or an Augmentation?

At what point do you know if your breast needs a simple lift, an augmentation, or a combination of the two?  Some woman experience drooping or sagging breast while others have lost the “full” look they long for.  This could be due to pregnancy, weight loss, age, or simply gravity. Bottom line is, if these symptoms are a concern to you, the glaring question is can this be corrected with just breast implants or do I also need a breast lift?  No matter what the case is, Board Certified Plastic Surgeon S. Larry Schlesinger, MD, FACS can get you and your breast back in the shape you want to be in.

Woman who have lost volume in their breast due to weight loss or pregnancy tend to be left with that “scooped out” look, in which case an implant would be an ideal fix.  Many times women in this circumstance have a fine shape to their breast that simply needs to be refilled.

When the nipple drops below the Inframammary fold (bottom crease of breast), it is time to consider a breast lift.  This is often due to a combination of gravity and age.  If your breasts are a perfect size in your bra, but your nipples sag or even point downward without your bra, chances are a breast lift (mastopexy) is right for you.

If re-positioning and adding volume is necessary you may consider both a breast augmentation and a lift.  This can be a very difficult decision to make on your own. Come see Dr.  Schlesinger about Breast Augmentation in Hawaii, and see how he can help you! Schedule a consultation today!
